.gif files on startup?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can answer my question...I'm not a huge fan of the Nokia handshake that appears when you turn your phone one, and would like to replace it. First question is - can I do so?

Assuming this is a yes, which I'm pretty sure you must be able to - how can you do it? And what files are suitable? I have a .gif file, a moving image, that I'd quite like to use. Or a couple of video files. I presume I'd need to size them for the Nokia 6600 screen. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can change formats / sizes to what is required, and the directory or wherever I need to put said file to appear when I turn the phone on?

Thanks!

KD

try to go to ur >phone settings click >general, scroll down, then click >welcome note or logo, click image then there you go look for the the image that you wanted to set as a start up image. 😊

This adds an image after the regular handshake startupimage, it doesn't replace it.

Replacing the startup animation was disussed in the forums long ago.Its a MBM file placed either in z:\system\apps\startup\startup.mbm or z:\system\data\startup.mbm.Its some sort of strange MBM format that can't be opened with any image editor i tried so far.Wrong forum, thread moved.
