if i go into contacts+messages on my pc in the pc suite 6.1 and try to connect to my phone it says my phone is not supported by the nokia phone editor (4.6)
it seems to see my 7610 ok of other browsing functions
any ideas please?

I am not familiar with this problem in particular but maybe an upgrade to the new 6.3 Nokia PC suite might help.
I installed 6.3. the notes said that it supports more phones and that the cntacts+messages app had been replaced with the nokia text message editor. now in this piece of software, if i send a message, it asks to pick a phone to use for the send but it doesnt detect the phone, even tho i can see it in the other apps.
Ouch, that dosen't sound good. Someone with more S60/Nokia experience needs to chime in but, from a pure PC point of view, maybe its the USB driver. Theres also an update for that which can be downloaded from the 7610 download page. Maybe try installing that.

PC Suite 6.3 - the Nokia Text message program is NOT compatible with the 7610. If ya check out the compatibility tables you will notice this. The devils. Guess we wait for 6.4 ...
Yes, well, good on you nokia. I cant even send home made midis via bluetooth. I mean, for a $1300 phone, you think they couldnt possibly overpass these things.
