Telephone? - Area Code shown on Desktop?

My area code (01782) is shown on my desktop of the 6600. It appears just below the battery indicator at the topright of the screen. its inside a white bar which fades out to the left.

If i hold menu down to see which programs are running i alwasy have "TELEPHONE" running and i cant close it. Im guessing it has something to do with the area code thing on my main screen.

I dont know how to turn it off or whatever and i know a few people with 6600s and they dont have the problem.

Help Please?

"Telephone" must be running.Your problem is probably caused by your Mobile Operator😊

Bulgaria is right, the Telephone app. needs to be running for the phone to be working - its a system application, the phone obviously wont close - and it has nothing to do with the area code being displayed. 🙄
About the area code, you need to go to Menu>Tools>Settings>System>Cell info display and turn it off. That way your area code prob. should be solved. 😊
