Release date in America?

Anyone has and idea about when the 6630 would be released for US carriers? Since it's supposely released in Europe in Oct, perhaps early to mid next year for the US?

Have any US carriers opened a WCDMA 3G network yet?

Even if the phone is a GSM/WCDMA phone, it doesn't make much sense for pure GSM carriers to release this model unless they also have a WCDMA network.

AT&T has WCDMA in some markets. They're calling it UMTS--that is, they're not marketing it as WCDMA. They offer the Nokia 6651 phone in these markets (Detroit, Dallas, San Francisco, Seatlle).

Then perhaps maybe a year from release date in Europe. I remember the 6620 was released several months in the US after the 6600 was released in Europe, but it took a bit longer until it actually got into the stores.

The 6620 is an entirely different phone from the 6600. Hardware and software-wise the 6620 is more related to the 7610 than the 6600, except for outward appearance (which resembles the 6600).
