Bluetooth File Transfers?

5 replies · 2,069 views · Started 30 September 2004

As anybody been able to transfer files over BT from a 7610 to a PC?

I've tried it using the XP SP2 BT stack as well as Widcomm BT stack (1.4.2.8) without any luck?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

E.

With some help, I solved my own problem. At least with the Widcomm BT stack, by ensuring that the PIM Transfer Local Services properties were configured properly.

Still no luck with the XP SP2 BT Stack.

I just happened to rebuild my work machine the other day with fresh XP SP2 install, had an MSI bluetooth key in the back and just right clicked on file, Send To -> bluetooth etc. and worked perfectly, also worked the other way using PC Suite and browsing it.

Before the rebuild I had an XP SP1 install with WIDCOMM install with the MSI one and that worked fine to, and still worked fine when I installed SP2 over the top.

the only problems I have ever had is when it has been a dodgy bluetooth key, so get yaself a new one. The dabs.com value one works really well (this is actually an MSI one).

Hope this helps,

Have you tried sending a file from the phone to your PC? Which what I'm having problems with.

Thanks,

Oh yea!!!

I get unable to connect.

Actually that is what I got last night in the pub. There were about 30 phones on the list and everyone was sending everyone files via bluetooth (yes these were all random people no idea who I was talking to!!!) and about half the phones I tried got unable to connect where as half of seemed to work. First time I had come across lots of phones in the pub so you will excuse my sadness! :frown:
