[FONT=Trebuchet MS]hey ppl.hope you all doing fine and gr8!well it all happened like this.today i backed up my contacts (612 contacts and 2 groups) into the mmc using the application called 'contacts transfer'.it was all compressed into a size of 21.5kb and saved into the e:/ root.then i formatted my phone.later on after the formatting was complete,i tried to restore the contacts back to the phone using the same application.but when i clicked the e:/ drive option to scan for the saved file,an error came up saying that 'unable to find the file'...help!!!someone out there please help me...i can't bear to lose all my contacts and stuff..any help would be deeply appreciated.please please please!!![/FONT]

You may need to reinstall 'contacts transfer' and restore data from your file.
hey all.. for the 3rd time, my 3650 again died.. i had 694 contacts; and 3 groups in it. i was just lucky to back-up the contacts with contacts transfer just before it had happened. but am not able to restore the data. is there any other way to restore it..? i have to give my 3650 to nokia care for re-flashing the phone. wtf happened to it. i don't have anything in the phone memory other than ONLY CONTACTS AND CALENDAR!!! no picture messages... all in my MMC.. shit! :frown: please help me some one!!!

That happened to me as well thats why i keep not one, not two but three backup files of my contacts. So if the other one fails u got another one to restore.
In process of restoring my original phone settings, I erased my contacts, my most important contacts & some important passwords, can anyone help me, how to restore those contacts. I need this help desperately
If you erased them on the phone, and don't have a backup (made on a memory card or to your PC with PC Suite), or you don't have synchronized the contacts with a PC (or a SyncML network service), then there is nothing mere mortals can do to help.
There are data recovery services (see, e.g., http://www.ibas.com/) but they are very expensive, and you should not do anything at all with the phone - don't use it, don't call, don't write messages, nothing - if you want to improve your chances of such a service company being able to recover something. Note also, that they'll might destroy the device in the data recover process.
