Email check

Hi guys, cool to be here! 😊
Is there any way that you can program the phone to check your email account every x minutes?
I can do that in my T610 and it's a very useful feature.

Thanks! 😊

Profimail is cool, but lacks the ability to place a sign or something in the upper bar to let you know that you have received an email. It plays a sound, but it's not enough...

It's quite incredible that there's no support for this, this is supposed to be also a professional phone and I guess many of us use it to retrieve and send emails, and I can't believe that something as simple as an application (that the phone should have in it's OS) that checks and advises you about a received email has not been thought of or included! Perhaps you get this in the new firmware that we, spanish Timofnica, sorry...Telefnica users haven't been able to download yet?

You are right, it does seem odd that an option to check for new mail, at a user specified interval, is not available in the core OS.

As you have no doubt guessed already, this option is not in the later build (50F). There are probably licensing constraints that prevent Sendo from modifying the OS code to include this facility, however, I would have thought it should be possible to develop a separate app that integrates with the email plugin to do this (any Symbian developers on this forum would be able to advise on this). However, I doubt we will see this any time soon from Sendo as they will be concentrating on bug fixing at the moment.

So this is so with all Symbian smartphones? I have been trying to find some other email client , but I haven't found any with what I'm looking for...😞

On the other hand, T-Mobile (at least here in the US) has a My Email service that sends an SMS whenever you receive an email sent to virtually any account. (I configured two of my email accounts to do this via the T-Mobile website.) When you get the email, you can read it via T-Zones WAP. Very handy.

It's a solution, 😊 but I'm not sure if Telefnica has this service here in Spain...
Spanish guys?

ok... I think there can be some email program that can check through GPRS for example if you have email....
In Spain some ISP have a "sms - like" service, i mean...if you receive an email in your account they send you an sms to your mobile account ( for example: encomix , inter.net...)
