I took the keypad off my p800 soon after I bought it as I felt I could operate the device easier that way. The only problem I am having now is trying to lock the touchscreen correctly. I use Tracker 4 and have it set to lock the touchscreen after about a minute or so. Although this prevents any unwanted calls etc, it doesn't deactivate the touchscreen completely. I find that when I am carrying the phone around in my pocket, the least little movement will cause the backlight to come on. The screen is locked and will not do anything, but having the backlight coming on everytime the screen is touched is draining my battery very quickly. Is there any way I can completely deactivate the screen so that even touching it will not cause the backlight to come on? This would mean that the only way to unlock the device and turn on the light would be to press one of the side buttons. I have tried different approaches to stopping the battery drain: using virtual flip - still causes the light to come on. : Disableing the light completely - works for the battery but now the screen is too hard to see and I have to keep turning it on when ever I use the phone. This sounds like a good idea but it can slow you down if you just want to send a quick sms or something.
