This came up on a 6600.Anyone know if a soft or hard reset or memory flash would solve this problem, or does it sound like its knackered? :con?

Sounds like you need to contact the retailer Lol.

Read the formatting sticky and try it!

You have nothing to lose.

I do have something to lose. I havent bought the phone yet. The reason for my post was to see if anyone else had come across this problem, and had solved it.

Ah,sorry mate

Good point, its always best to know before!

If the format doesnt work, its not the end of the world as it will only need a software flash which is not expensive, but you should consider it in the price of the phone.

Good luck. 😊

Cool. Thanks Elton, appreciated.

I was getting the "phone start up failed contact the retailer" message and I bought the phone back to my service provider for repair. They said the PCB board had bent due to overheating!!

So they gave me a new n70 plus the old phone.

I just did a hard reset followed by an update and bob's yer uncle...

n70 x 2 !!!!

Ps: Try the hard reset with the sim out. Mine wouldn't reset with it still in?? (*3 and green for about 3mins!!) I also had the mmc out? not sure if this makes a difference?
