Oplayo has a new FREE streaming video player!! Check it out! Does not take so much space as the real one pleyer !

i wonder if i use my GPRS to stream video

how much will i gonna pay this month for the GPRS

😃 😃 😃

GPRS is still too expensive! Its gonna change though but not for now! However, I use oplayo to play downloaded video that i have sent to my phone to impress ppl! Real One was tooo big 1mb! This one is smaller!

It uses aporx 200-250 kb! But I dont think it supports MP4, am not sure though! There are video u can download, just install the app and see there are options to download etc. There is a welcome video included in the instalation as well!

i just tried it excellent 😃 😃
i have gprs so speed was very good. i tried the demo videos and you can really impress someone with the quality of the video streaming and audio all considering it is just a mobile phone!!!

waiting for live broadcast links ( i wish!!)

Damn! 😮
I just watched 2 of the vids in the playlist, looked in the log and deleted the programm immediately! 300kb for 2 small videos
It costs 2,5EURO-cents per kb here in Germany (E-Plus)

wouldn't it be nice if we could play live feed broadcast with this player whatever the cost!!! live cam!!! 😉

Did anyone find more on the video format compression or decompresion as maybe i can make my own little videos.

i have tried with real one but could only manage mp3 but nto mp4.

the hantro has no sound with mp4 coding. so i have made same mp4 clips but they are boring without the sound to go with!

That's right.. all the clips are just demo. There is no full version movie.
:-?

Hello!

The used file format is called MVQ, or Motion Vector Quantisation to be exact. It's highly efficient compression method developed by VTT, a government research lab in Finland.

Meanwhile you can check

for more videos.

I can try to set you guys up for some more content later on. The lack of any official videoclips is because Oplayo doesn't have rights to many videos and so far none of the major operators have launched this service.

Oops... yeah, forgot to mention some of them are not meant for kids. That's the personal playlist of Oplayo's CTO so I have no part in what's in it!

Not really, and can they afford to stream video over GPRS? $$$$

You know I just installed Oplayer again 😉

Does anyone else have any other streaming content (Esp. Playlists)

I'll see if I can fix you a playlist or two. 😉

In the meantime, I'll take suggestions on what kind of content I should convert to mvq & link here. Please tell where to get it as well!

Grab a playlist here...

Let me know what you think and I'll put some more on there.

Enjoy.

Hello ppl! I'm new here. Love this forum, find it very informative.

Anyway, the Oplayer is great, but when I play a video OTA it stops several times buffering. So I just wondered if this could be helped by changing the buffersize? Anyone know the best buffersize to use?

Thanks.

Btw, some Metal music videos would be great.... 😉

Cheers.

I personally use a 500kB buffer and let the streams load it for a while. It's much better to wait at start and view the whole video than to view it in bits so to speak.

Thanks for the reply, Magic. I've downloaded the "die another day" clip and one more which I deleted. And now suddenly when I try to download or play some more files I just get the "File not found or network error message". This is really frustrating. I'm using the same settings as before, and I've tried wapping over GPRS so I know there's nothing wrong with my network.... Anybody know what the problem might be??

Thanks

Sorry to say, Raven, I have no solution for you at this point. Have you tried uninstalling the Oplayer and re-installing it again? Also, you could check your operator's web page if they have changed the GPRS settings. If you need any help with that, just post here.

Also, here's the content I promised:

http://koti.mbnet.fi/~syd/lists/index.mvp

I worked hard to get that base done, but it should be easier to update it in the future. I'll probably add some more content next week. Please PM me in case the links don't seem to work... I don't trust my webhost. :x

Then one more thing: I'm looking for news clips (in English) that are frequently updated and not in Realmedia format. Basically I need a direct link so I can set my GetRight to download the newscast videoclip for me. Avi/wmv/mpg/asf/qt/mov/dv will do.

Cheers,

This is just great!
I will have a go at encoding an entire movie later.
What films would you guys like to see?
😊
Just a shame GPRS is so damn expensive else I would be downloading movies all day!
I'll have a new playlist of funny clips soon too.

Wow, didn't know that was possible.... So do I just use wap-dial up then?
