Seems like the Sendo X is starting to get seriously recognised:-
At the Mobile Choice Awards earlier this week, although the winners were, as usual dominated by Nokia there was a big surprise: the Sendo X won the Best Smartphone Award when everyone expected the SPV C500!

It's about time this phone got the recognition it deserves...

are you completely Nutzu
(hehe see what i did there!)
We are not saying that the phone is the best in the whole market place just that it was judged the best smartphone.
People buy different phones with different feature sets because they have different requirements, hence the categorisation.
best 'phone' LOL,
i guess that's why you need a smartphone. 😃
and guess what's the best smartphone: 😃
best camera? yes, we don't have a 1MP camera. Besides, i don't notice the difference and you DON'T have flash 😃
you lose again nutzu 😃
Dont keep replying to Nutzu - you will only encourage him 😉
Nutzu's mission in life seems to be to drift through all the SendoX forums (mobile burn, Sendo-x.com etc) like some obsessive ghost moaning at every opportunity about the phone.
Nutzu - Yes, I think we have got the picture now, we know you dont like this phone!
i think it's quite clear:
the best phone: 7610
the best SMARTphone: Sendo X 😃

Would you guys mind posting your ages - it would be interesting to know whether you are all kids or just behaving like kids.
I am missing my X, but I suppose the true test of how good a phone is - is having owned one for a few months would I go out and buy it again?
To be honest if the market hadn't moved then I might but I think it probably has and whilst I still can't find a phone that has all of the same functions (god I loved that keyboard, in fact I still have the keyboard... just no phone) I'm sure there must be one out there.
The nearest I have found is the SP3i - which looks fast and reliable. But, isn't built in Britain and will still be built (in part) on Sendo's technology.
Still... plinkykev - persuade me not...
Check out the sendo website for lots of endorsements (sure you won't reconsider urbanscrawl?) : http://www.sendo.com/smartphones/awards.asp

You don't seriously think the X is built in Britain do you? It was designed here (hence the long delay in release, all the bugs, etc) but it certainly isn't built here....
I hope it's turned out to be the phone everyone hoped it would be (or would have been 9 months ago if it was released on time). Somehow I don't think it is 😉

Get a life rayman.
At least it is a registered British company.
A lot of companies carry out different aspects of design, manufacture and config abroad.
Also, a lot of people are happy with their X and consider it to be the best smartphone as per the award.
Yes, it was delayed but this has been discussed in previous threads and the common agreement amongst most users on AAS was that better to have delivered a delayed product when it was of reasonable quality rather than a product which didn't work at all.
I know you will probably say that the released product has bugs but at least they waited until they a reasonable quality product and fix minor problems later with firmware updates.
Also, remember that this is Sendo's first smartphone!
i am definately the biggest kid around here ! 😊
Well I can only say this.
If they considered the Sendo X the best smartphone. Then how awfull where the products of those other "established" companies (whom ususally get more credit).
Look I know that in these Sendo forums you don't like ppl who have other opinions (especially negative opinions) about the X. I also had not such good experience from it. Though at first I liked that phone. It has some great points (that terriffic audio subsystem for one). But we can't ignore the facts that there ARE problems with it.
We can't deny that the series 60 UI has some drawbacks (which isn't directly related to Sendo) but choosing for the older version of the UI does cripple the machines future usefullness as support for this older version rapidly declines.
Also that the Sendo is an expensive phone. While not as expensive as the top o/t range Nokia. I still don't understand the difference between these socalled smart-phones (who aren't that smart after all) and those "normal"phones. I mean a SE K700i (not a smartphone) can do the same as the sendo. It also has an agenda, camera, downloadable stuff etc... So in what way is the Sendo smarter?
Because the USB cable is included? Because the additional PC software lets you sync it with outlook express whill most other products target the outlook/office users?
For 250 euro I'd probably buy one again. But at 444 euro it's way to expensive and has too much problems.
Anyway. I'll keep an eye on Sendo now because they have potential. Perhaps in the future a better equipped Sendo X2 with more userfriendly or at least a more intuitive userinterface with less hassle might part with my money again. But for now I'm not impressed.
It just shows how bad the others are regarding "smartphones"

The current definition of a smart phone is a phone running an open operating system. The two are Symbain and Microsoft. There are different UI's for Symbian, and Seriers 60 is one of those.
By an open operating system I mean that you can install stuff on it, other than Java. Take your PC for example, you are probably running Windows, but you have other things installed that don't come with it - like office and various games. This is an example of an open operating system.
So with that SE K700i it can do only what it came with (apart from Java apps), wereas a smartphone can do many more things. Things like satelite navigation, ogg play etc.

Being such an expert would you tell me the differences between them? They are all features that either Sendo have incorperated or that most users would fine useless. For example themes are supported on newer S60, but Sendo have incorperated (better) themes in the X.
And isn't it obvious that the older version is much more popular?? So support is NOT rapidly declining. The following phones use S60 v1.x
Sendo X
Siemens SX1
Nokia 3660
Nokia 3650
Nokia 7650
Whereas the newer S60 v2.x is only used by 2:
Nokia 7610
Nokia 6600

Yes we know. There are always bugs with such advanced devices. Take the SX1 for example, it was delayed for a year! The X was delayed also, but not that long.
Plus the advantage of the X is that Sendo are a small company and therefore seem to listen to its customers needs more. They will solve all the bugs eventually.
I personally am affected by very few bugs, I think I am affected by 1 only. I think it is very stable TBH.
