Difficulties making ringtones.

Hello, just registered on your forum. Browsed for a while before actually getting the phone. I had a nokia 3650 before so I am not entirely new to symbian, but what I want to do with my Nokia 6600 I have not done with my 3650.

Great to be part of your community.

Onto my first question, bare with me please.

-------

I read the sticky thread and it say that I should use a 41kz 8bit MONO wav file. I cutting out about 30 seconds of an mp3 and then saving it as 8bit with goldwave. The file turns out to be an ungodly 90 megs, sometimes more.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a secret to making ringtones?

Where do you guys get yours?

Sadly the ringtones that came with it are boring and hard to hear.

Welcome Lurker,

Thats exactly what i do,and most end up around 500-800kbs using Nero wave editor. 😊

But wait, after converting from mp3 to wav and cropping in goldwave mine turns out to like 90 megs.

How do you get yours to be so small? Does nero wave editory do mp3 -> wav and lets you crop?
