Hi mates! I can't get to work the remote S60 with the usb data cable... any sugestions?
7610
Nokia Data suite 6.3.14

Now it appear cable connection on nokia data suite but on remoteS60 it doens't detect "direct conncetion" and when I choose Cable com port 4 (the one in data suite) it says general comx error and starts listenning... but nothing happens... Any help?

well that is impossible, it only worked with older nokia pc suites and the mrouter - for 7610 you can only get it to work using bluetooth

Nokia 7610 does not have Bluetooth Serial port.
and Remote 60 connect with mrouter and u can't get work on 7610.

ok, so has anyone gotten 7610 to use remote S60 program???

Vicky, this is BULLSHIT - ive got my 7610 to work with bluetooth.

The 7610 has a bluetooth serial port, is just not an open api currently.

Since the 7610 connects via bluetooth TO the PC, you dont need the serial port on the mobile, you need it on the PC...the newest version works flawless with BT.

Please dont tell things you have no clue about, the 2.x version does not use mrouter for bluetooth

I have just bought a 7610 and cannot connect it to my PC via BT. It say BT Serial is not supported on the 7610, whereas it works fine with my old P900. Can anybody help.

I have had Remote S60 working fine via BT to my 7610.

Somewhere on these forums there is some instructions, try having a good search around. When I got it to work I was on WIDCOMM stuff pre XP SP2 (probably XP SP1a I think). I was using trial version off the site.

Cut down version of instructions - I believe you had to get your incoming COM port, find out what number it was from the bluetooth settings on ya PC, set that up in the remoteS60 program on the PC, get it to start listening then start the little program which resides on the phone. And kaboom it worked.

I am now on Microsoft BT with SP2 and I haven't tried it yet, will let you know the outcome if I get it working.

Cheers,
Nyx.

I'm on XP Pro SP2, using Widdcomm cracked drivers, which I downloaded from eMule.

After the hell i've been through trying to make everything work (bluetooth, 7610, computer) together, I've finally got everything working with:

The amazing Bemused app. (please try it! It's free, and you can remote control the winamp, Windows Media Player, or Powerpoint via bluetooth. Hope they add more apps in the future. It's just great. http://bemused.sf.net/).

The Nokia PC suite, the 6.4, not the one that came bundled with my phone, which I think it was 6.2 or even older.

[What i can't understand is everybody complaining about version xx.xx of the pc suite does this, and works with these phones, but not with those other ones, and this other version has this and makes this happen and stuff like that. Being a spaniard living in the UK, I was trying to help a fellow spaniard by MSN messenger when I downloaded the spanish version of the Nokia PC Suite, and it's older than 5.2!!! Are all the spaniards in the world breaking their heads against the nearest wall trying to set up their bluetooth connections with their phones?]

Also been able to backup my phone, to send things from and to the phone, and everything.

Before, using microsoft drivers I could only connect to the nokia pc suite, and using the Blue Manager, only Bemused worked, not the suite.

But I still can't get it to work with Remote S60 or m-router.

m-router (last version, beta 3), NEVER connects to my phone, although if I start Bemused in my phone when it's on my system tray, it turns hopefully blue, and says "connecting...." but it never does connect in the end. It recognizes my phone, and everything, but it just won't connect.

Remote S60, the app I want the most (I want to use my 7610 as a webcam for messenger), can't connect either. Is there any documentation available for this app?

Any help out there, please?

And one ... hint? Does the difficulty to set up a bluetooth connection has anything to do with the brand of the USB dongle? Which ones are better with a 7610?

does this remote S60 work with 7610? i am not able to connect via BT even with the version 2.12 tried with other versions too.

Sorry to write just a reply which says chuckle, but ....

CHUCKLE!

oh that gave me a giggle.

What worked for me :

-You will need Widcomm 1.4 drivers
-WinXP SP 1

make sure your PC is able to find your phone and pair it using the widcomm drivers

find out what local bluetooth serial port your pc is using for the connection (advance configuration, serial ports - should be between com1->com10).

Open Remote60 on your pc, add a new port to listen to - use the one you found out using the widcomm drivers. Now you should see another port (apart from direct) called serial and under address the specified com port. Click on the status square right next to the com port so that remote 60 is listening too this port. If you get the message port is used by another program, your pcsuite is interfering with it - restart your comp and make sure to not start any applications. Now start remote 60 on your phone, connect via bluetooth - choose your computer and it should work. BTW : The cracked version will NOT work (neither 2.016, nor 2.12) - ive only got the demo version to work (2.12)...
