I downloaded the trial of worldmate and checked it out. Now I want to remove it and it wont let me. I go to manager find the program press remove and the screen refreshes yet its still there.
What can I do to remove it?
Im getting worried because I dont know anything about Symbian. Even when I started using FreeBSD there was a 1000 page handbook.
Since you tried uninstalling it, have you turned your phone off and on again? Then try to uninstall agaiin. What happens is that some parts of the program are started when you switch on the phone and run in the background, it can't uninstall these until they are not running. The first uninstall removes them from the startup sequence, and the second one removes them from the phone.
Still no go.
I press remove it shows the uninstall progress bar then immedietly refreshes and the program is still there. I restart the phone and attempt the same thing and its the same story. I can even start worldmate again.
Just Press Your menu key for 2 sec and u can see which programs are run in the background. If The program is running in the Backgroup Press "C" and exit it and then try Unstall it. If Still it not Able to Unstall then Use FX EXp. for deleting the files
if u have install in Memory card then it would be in "E" other wise in "C".
in system folder.
Do I have to worry about the program writing itself into system files and such kinda like deleting something in windows and not uninstalling it?
That shouldn't be a problem. It might contain a few small files in other places (libs, registry etc.) which you might also want to track down.
Also, it will still show up in Manager log as still being installed, since it was removed by a different program, but that's no cause for concern.
