okay my operator says that MMS does work on the Nokia 7610 and he has sent me the settings load of times but i still cant figure out why its not working.
1. in web> there is a bookmark which is the MMS access point itself. when i edit that which access point do i select.. the default or the MMS access point itself?
2. in connection settings> access points> when i edit the MMS access point and go in advanced settings my operator told me to write an IP address. but i read somewhere that series 60 phones dont work on IP addresses.. should i use the IP address and proxy port number?
3. which settings should i set in the messaging settings for MMS
the error that i receive is that i c the arrow on the top right and G also comes in a box but then it says sending failed or it stays in the outbox n says.. will resend at blah blah time
what does an UNDERLINED G in the box mean?( this isnt related to the MMS settings)
The same problem u are getting once i was getting in my 6600.
So i contact the operator and they told me to do the setting manual bcoz they are symbian set and they have other setting of Gprs and Mms.So i go to ther outlet and they do manual setting and they put setting in the Advance option in Proxy Serv setting and Operator code in Proxy Port Number. And it was Working fine. But at one Operator My Gprs was working but MMS was not working. U must have heard abt Airtel it was that. These thing are vary from network to network. So ask that person i your network who has knowlege abt symbian system
But when i use Vodafone They were different and these setting comes with the setting message.
yes, first u were in india? because Airtel is indian network right? anyway.. i dont want to go to the service center man! m sure any1 can help me! vicky what settings did they do? i have told u all details..
well i got it working my MMS that is. although there is one little problem, today i sent an MMS to an email address and it perfectly worked. then to check if it was really working i told a friend to MMS me from his 6600 and with reading 'help' i set the settings to 'retrieve immediately' well i received his MMS immediately and also another one from 'postamaster@mail..' something like that, the one that my friend sent me was completely okay and the postmaster one said that 'message delivery notification.. delivery failed to ...(the email address i had earlier sent the MMS to) mind u it was a hotmail email add. i called my operator and told them what happend, he said first try to send an mms to my own self or a number which i still havent or try to send it to a yahoo email address.
is this hotmails fault? (m sure the account i was sending to wasnt full)
also y arent we charged for the data v send in an MMS? i mean like GPRS, the bigger the MMS the more the cost, y is it a specific amount? and also while retrieving it my operator says to keep Message delivery report off because receving that also takes the same amount as receving an MMS!
i know this sounds complicated but i will really appreciate anyones help!
umm is this tooo complicated? or was i not understood? please reply! will be appreciated

MMS are usually charged at a flat rate but its mobile operator dependent. Sending MMS to an email is also operator dependent. Thats the reason you aren't getting replies. Its not complicated at all, but it depends on your operator. You are better off asking your operator for these things which are specific to them. For example, I cannot send an MMS to an email address without using the GPRS access point with me local operator. The MMS access point will only send to another mobile. With Singapore Telecom, I can send an MMS to an email and be charged the standard flat rate or so their instructions say. I have yet to see the point of emailing anyone a MMS, to be honest.
