hey, i got an n-gage qd and ive put a few movies on before but they were avi now, i was wondering can anyone tell me how to convert dvd to 3gp or rm to put on my phone, plz help, i really want this to work! keep in mind i use mac os x!

To convert to 3gp, just use the Nokia Pc Suite.

To convert to rm, use 'RealProducer'.

Besides reduce your avi quality to 144 kbps or less using XVid or DivX and 'SmartMovie Player' should be able to be play it.

Oops, forgot about that.

You can use Quicktime Pro to convert videos to 3gp. I don't know of any other solution which is more economical.

... not sure if you figured this out or not... but i thought i'd point you in the right direction. i've done some small testing, and some heavy encoding testing with my video encoding department, and we got some great results.

i used handbrake (http://handbrake.m0k.org/) and extracted the dvd to a quicktime formatted movie. and then use quicktime pro to export to a 3gpp file. you will have to do a small test to see the quality, but it works really well.

What about audio? I haven't been able to encode audio that would play back on my 3650 from any 3GP file I've encoded with Quicktime Pro. Videos recorded on the phone play back with audio just fine both on the phone and in Quicktime, but I can't reverse the process and encode a video with audio with Quicktime Pro.

What format does the audio track need to be in? What settings should I use to make this work?

Can someone help me, im trying to convert files to 3gp using quicktimepro but when i got to export it doesnt give me the option to export it to 3gp, can anyone tell me what i might be doing wrong?

I too am looking at this and have found that you can use Mac the Ripper or similar to extract DVD to VOB file, then use this program to convert to 3gp.

It says there are a few issue with it but it is constantly being updated.
