Memory Full - Delete some data

5 replies · 10,962 views · Started 12 October 2004

My phone is operating fine, I can run all apps, take pics etc.

But whenever I recieve an SMS I get the message "Memory Full - delete some data"

My phone memory is 100% free, I am using a 256mb MMC to hold all contacts, messages, pictures, apps etc and theres over 200mb free space on it..

So why is it telling me my memory is full, ive used eFilemanager and theres literally nothing in my D:/ drive (the buffer drive?). Ive searched the forums and nothing seems to cure it.. my memory simply isnt full!!

Any ideas? much appreciated in advance

Try closing any applications you might have running.

Nope - all closed, nothing running but telephone.

Rebooted many times.

Cleared out D:/ drive.

????

Could they be on the SIM??? I am not sure if/how you can check with 6600, but if you have access to an older (non-symbian) phone you may be able to check. It's been a while since I have used a phone with limited memory, but I am sure the SIMs can hold up to something like 15 messages on top of the 100/200 phone numbers.

I think Gadget17 is correct. Its related with the sim memory. If you have number of unread messages in your inbox, this type of problem can occure.
