9210i PDA Screen

Hi,

I recently sent My 9210i to a Nokia service centre to have a shattered PDA LCD Screen replaced. They returned the phone saying it was beyond repair, so I finally talked them into selling me the screen to fit myself.

On fitting, the screen works fine with the exception of the backlight. On further examination I see that the screen I tool out had a FL Tube backlight and the new one supplied by them has a backlight based on LED's.

My question is for anyone who's disected their phone before. I put the old screen back in and its backlight works fine. There appears to be no way to interchange the backlights and I am wondering if maybe they've sent me a 9210 backlight instead of a 9210i backlight.

If anyone has any information on this matter I would be most appreciative.

Thank you

My LCD screen the PDA interface was smashed and cracked as well. I was horrified, it was in my pocket and I slipped and it hit hard on the ground, not to mention me as well.

I got it replaced from my dealer, they can replace almost any part; they didn't cover warranty as expected although I tried; and I had a loss of $300 as well.

Beleive it or not the LCD is the most expensive part/component in the entire 9210i, other than any part.
