i have all my contacts on my p800 and want to transfer them onto the p910i but i have so many in the unfiled folder that it cannot be transfer on mass it needs to be done individually.
i could transfer them into the sim card and then put into the p910i but this will take forever is there another way ????
can someone help, i have the softward but i am not sure about trnasfering via a pc
use quickcontact to backup your contacts file, and then install QC on your p910, copy the ContactsBackup.cdb file to x:\media files\other (x = c or d drive) and then restore. Everything, ringtone associations, categories, pictures etc is restored.
And you can do all that with QC running in trial mode (then buy it, it's worth it!)
Alternatively, from the p800 contacts app, select all and "send this folder". It's sent as a .vcf file (IR/BT/e-mail) although you'll lose categories, pictures etc
You can sync your P800 to the Microsoft Outlook and transfer all your contacts (maybe you'll loose the pictures...). Then you sync again, but with P910, to the same Outlook and all the contacts will pass to the new phone.
I haven't tried because I don't have P910 so I'm not sure, but give it a shot. 😉

I had a p800 and I have since upgraded to p910i.
My p800 died after hitting a heavy wall 😉 and my contacts were unretreivable from the phone....all i I had was my p800 backed up to PC and also my p800 contacts backed up in outlook. As i couldnt backup/restore from p800 to p910i, I tried your suggestion about synching my p800 contacts from outlook into my p910i and it worked fine for me.
I now have all my contacts from my p800 in my p910i, as you say tho minus any pictures etc.
My p910i was brand new with no contacts on it at all, I merely forced a full synchronisation and ticked/highlighted ' keep items in computer and override items in phone' synched them both.... all my contacts from my p800 are now in my p910i.
And FYI ..... it also copied over all fields to my p910i, so I had peoples' email addresses, etc as well as phone numbers.
