Annoying start-up tune

6 replies · 1,874 views · Started 13 October 2004

Is there any way (without buying something) of getting rid of that annoying tune when the phone boots up...you know: Bing bing bing biing biiiiinggg !

One way: Never turn the phone off.

Another way: Always select the "Silent" profile just before you turn the phone off.

3rd way: Open up the phone and cut the wires to the speaker. However, it makes it somewhat difficult to hear what people say when you call them (or when they call you). 😉

You're welcome. And, please, do take a look at my previous posts; you will find answers to questions you didn't realize existed.

In any case, those are the actual alternatives you have. There is a fourth one, too, but less likely to materialize: Make Nokia change the phone firmware so that the bootup tune can be bypassed in settings or some other way.

I use option number one myself.

Oh, and you might also want to see if they sell "sense-of-humour" in your neighbourhood. If they do, you might want to buy some.

LOL! Springheel, do appreciate the humor. Let me add another option for you, you can edit the flash of your phone. However that will require purchasing a device that can do that.

Oh I do have a sense of humour, here are some of the solutions N/A forgot:

1. Stuff the phone under a pillow when you switch it on.
2. Scream really loudly when you switch it on so you dont hear the tune.
3. Stuff the phone between the cheeks of a fat persons arse with the speaker facing inwards when you switch on (would have to be someone you know !)
4. Stuff your head between the cheeks of a fat persons arse when you switch on making sure your ears are covered (would have to be someone you know really well !)
😃

LOL! If you are interested in editing the flash of your phone this is a good place to begin: http://nokiafree.org/forums. I am not sure if this is warez link or not because it does deal with things like unlocking and other hardware hacks. Vicky, if its bad please edit my post with my apologies. Otherwise, I do not thing its possible to do what you originally asked. But there are others more experienced than I who may have a trick I haven't read about yet.
