I wonder if you can help me.
I am a novice at creating themes and I hope a few queries that I hope you can help me with.
I have create my first theme but there are some things that I am not happy with.
Firstly, how do I make the background of something transparent in Theme Studio ?
I ask as I have created a new signal graphic and its not quite right. I used Photoshop to create my image. I made the background transparent (I saw the gray and white checks underneath), I merged all the layers,
Then I selected all of the image and selected copy. At this point Photoshop still displayed the checks so the image background is still transparent.
However, when I go to Theme Studio and select paste, the background is now white and my theme isn't so it sticks out like a sore thumb and makes my theme look ugly.
Does anyone know how I can fix this and make the background of my image stay transparent?
Also how do I go about creating a screen saver for my theme?
I hope you are able to help me.
I appreciate any help or information recieved.
Thanks
The signal graphics rely on a mask.
First, set one of the pre-made graphics as battery/signal for your theme and save.
Enter Photoshop, open a file from Programs>Theme Studio>Data>Skinsdir>Whateveryoucalledyourtheme.
Look through the thumbnails* to find the battery/sinal graphics, and the mask for each (they should all be next to each other).
Copy and paste your created graphics over the default graphics, and save.
Now edit the masks. Just superimpose the mask over your design to guide yourself. When you've finished editing the mask, remove the additional layers and save. (This saved mask should be greyscale only).
Now when you open Theme Studio, it should automatically replace the default battery/signals you saved when you were there last, with the (fully functional) images you made.
*Note - I've never used Photoshop. If it doesn't show thumbnails, carefully write down the names of the graphics displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of Theme Studio in order to locate them.
I hope all that made sense 😊
No wonder it takes you ages to make a theme if thats how you do it Lol. 😊
Hinders,
Just create your image for the signal etc as you have been, then click 'mask' in theme studio, then click 'pen' (or 'wand' if you have a complete white area) and draw the mask using theme studio, the hidden areas will show up pink, then click 'save' and all will be hunky dory! 😊
