Hi there,
Since yesterday I switched to P910. It was a rather impulsive buy; I used to synch a Nokia phone with my Mozilla suit (contacts / calender) via mobile master and was very happy with it.
The p910 has much more options to store and more optoins to sync, but what works already? I have seen outlook, but don't wanna switch to microsoft solutions anymore for email / contacts.
- does anyone now of local (BT, IR, USB) sync solutions for mozilla/netscape with p800/800/910
- can I use my (linux) server for Ldap / iCal sync via the internet or simular?
The p910 can sync remote, but I don't seem to understand. Do I need a provider to work with me here?

Hi,
Remote sync is using SyncML, which you can read about on the web. I tried using Sync4J (to host my own syncml server) but it doesnt seem ready to manage the process. It was very hard to get running, as there was no way to say which side (the phone or the data repository) is the master, during a sync. So you could easily wipe out alot of your data. Also I only looked at the file sink, which places calendar and contacts in a file directory.
I'm in the similar boat to you. I have iCal files on a remote site (via webdav), which I access through Mozilla Calendar and through a web browser as I have phpicalendar on the web server. Also I have all my contacts stored in openldap, which I access through the ThunderBird address book, and through a web browser via phpldapadmin, I also have the ldap address book linked into my webmail in squirrelmail. This solves the problem of have you data in one place, and accessing it remotely (whether through a fat client or a browser).
However I am still on the search the ability to sync ical calendars and ldap addressbooks with phones and pdas. Once thats sorted, Nirvana will be reached.

Any success to sync "not outlook" (Sync4J, Mozilla, iCal, ...) with your p910 yet?
I am also looking for a non Outlook alternative for the Nokia 6630. Why oh why does PC Suite insist on using Microsoft's pants products for effective syncing? I would use Oxygen Phone Manager, but it is a little overpriced considering you can get MyPhoneExplorer for SE phones for free (which in my opinion beats Nokia's efforts hands down)😡
