Hey guys, I recently got a Nokia 3650. I moved my MMC from my N-Gage, and now I can't see my mp3s. If I move it back to the N-Gage, they are there (available for ringtones), but in the 3650 I can only see them in FExplorer (not in the ringtone list).
How can I set my mp3s as ringtones in the 3650?
Thanks,
-K

Not possible. sorry. Wavs midis amrs rngs only on Nokia 36xxs as tones. 3rd party apps can play mp3s but not as ringing tone. Try OGG Vorbis plugin.
So, the N-Gage and the 3650 use the exact same OS, with all of the same apps and features. It will play the mp3s in the mp3 player, but it won't play the mp3s as ringtones?
That doesn't make any sense at all.
I know you can use ringtones installed on the MMC. Is there a freeware program to convert the mp3s (or a portion of them) to ringtone format?

There are a lot of sound editing programs around... Try
www.download.com and search for it there then query freeware. U can also use Nero wave editor to chop down an mp3 and convert it to wav. Search the forum for the recommended bitrate and encoding for wavs.

They are based on the same Symbian OS and Series 60 releases, but the 3650 doesn't have an MP3 player built-in, whereas the N-Gage ("classic", not QD) does. That's why MP3's work in the N-Gage and not on the 3650.
