POP3 message retrieval every 5 minutes?

3 replies · 2,285 views · Started 25 October 2004

I need a POP3 client which can be configured to retrieve pop3 email in intervals of 5 minutes or shorter.
The shortest interval I con choose in the built-in client is 15 minutes which is too long for our purposes.
Does anyone know a pop3 client which can do this on a P800?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I don't think this is possible (natively). What you need is a push based e-mail service (like blackberry). If I remember correctly there was another push-based service. I'm thinking/searching....

Update: Found it 😃

This site only talks about the P900, but my guess is that the P800 will work as well!

I know those push services but would like to avoid them for privacy reasons and because I cannot check whether an email has been really retrieved (thus being able to escalate messages to someone else or using another alert channel).
For other OS like pocket PC there are tons of email clients where I can choose the interval as I like (even Pocketoutlook can do it).

I'm afraid there is no such app for UIQ. I guess they think once every 15 minutes will do for most people...
