Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum.
I have been trying to set up a calling card on my new 6600, like I used to have on my very old 3360. So far no luck.
Anybody knows how to do it or is there a software that would allow to do it?
Thanks,
Hary

anybody can help here?
do you mean business card??
you can set up your own details in contacts and send this via sms/mms/bluetooth
I do this from my 6600 to 3330 and it says business card received.
If this is what you want and don't know how simply
1-set up your details in contacts (phone no.s, company, name, e-mail etc)
2-open contacts and select
3-page down and select send - via whichever method you prefer
4-then select person off your contact list you want to send it to
or type in the phone number
or select bluetooth device (OR INFRARED)
Thats it - you can also send via an E-mail
Its a standard function and does not require any 3rd party application.
thanks bu I really meant a calling card. In my old Nokia 3360, I could set up my calling card as follows:
1-800 number
calling card number + password.
So basically, I would just enter the overseas number I would like to call and then press the green calling key for few second and here we go I'm connected. Here I have to dial all the number every time and that's a pain.
Anybody else?
Maybe you could put your calling card number on a speed dial using the code 'p' for putting a pause in between the numbers. I used to use this for calling Orange customers services, using 'p' for the pause between automated call centre choices, just store the long number in a contact number and put it in a speed dial slot.
Thanks for your suggestion but I don't understand the code 'p', as you call it. Should I actually store in my phone the following:
1800-number 'p' card number password 'p' number to call ?
Thanks again for your help,
Hary
Yes, put 'p's and if necessary '#'s in the number field in Contacts.
When you are editing the contact field, a long press of the '#' key will switch from numbers-only (123) entry mode to text entry mode (abc) and vice versa. You need to switch from "123" mode to "abc" mode in order to type the 'p's.
To Quote the 6600 userguide for sending DTMF tones, which is what you are doing really:
Key in the digits with the number keys . Each keystroke generates a DTMF tone, which is transmitted while the call is active. Press '*' repeatedly to produce: *, p (inserts a pause of approximately two seconds before, or between DTMF characters.), and w (if you use this character, the remaining sequence is not
sent until you press Send again during the call). Press '#' to produce #.
So using this method, type your number using 'p' as many times as needed when you know that the service will talking to you, like "please enter your password after the tone and then press the # key", which is approximately 6seconds so in the sequence put 'ppp' 'password' '#' (without the ' marks and spaces of course).
Example (this is not a calling card it is just and example of automated dialing):
telelphone number to dial first is 01234 689947, card number is 5555, password is 1111.
Voice after dialing first number says:
"Please enter your card number followed by the # key", "Thank you now please enter your password followed by the # key"
Sequence stored in a contact/speed dial:
01234689947pp5555#pp1111#
Please note that the 'p' code is different to the letter p that N/A told you how to enter above, just follow the user manual and press '*' a few times instead.
I hope that helps you.
