Hello 😊
I am from Bangkok but i can definitely help here, because i had precisely the same problem. I'm using a 3650 only since two weeks, and i was unable to connect with Agile Messenger, Netfront, Opera and two or three other messenger-type apps. But with the original "web" application i could get any site, so what? My boyfriend's phone (a 6260) could connect with every application, but he's using a different network (AIS opposed to D-TAC for me).
So i went to D-TAC and complained. I told them that i use this phone exclusively to surf the mobile web and play around with Symbian things, and now i can't connect. I'm "only" a pre-paid user of their system but i want the service. So on they went, trying to figure out what was wrong.
It took two engineers, several phone calls to the head office and 45 minutes of trying to get my stuff working! And now i can connect to anywhere with everything.
I'll show you the differences in MY settings (which are way different from yours anyway, but go to O2 and explain them that you need (!) a connection that supports TCP/IP! And havwe them set it for you.
Here are my settings, just to show you the difference between the ordinary GPRS and the TCP/IP supporting one:
D-TAC GPRS:
connection name: DTAC GPRS
data bearer: GPRS
access point name: wap.djuice.co.th
user name: none
prompt password: no
password: -
authentication: normal
gateway ip address: 203.155.200.133
under "GPRS" the "advanced settings":
phone ip address: dynamic
primary name server: 0.0.0.0
secondary name server: 0.0.0.0
server address: none
port number: 0
Now, here's the TCP/IP supporting settings, notice the differences:
D-TAC WEB:
connection name: DTAC WEB
data bearer: GPRS
access point name: www.dtac.co.th
user name: none
prompt password: no
password: -
authentication: normal
gateway ip address: 0.0.0.0
under "GPRS" the "advanced settings":
phone ip address: dynamic
primary name server: 203.155.33.1
secondary name server: 202.44.144.33
server address: none
port number: 0
As you can easily see, the settings for those both access points are quite different. Now go to O2 and show them this reply and get them to set your phone the proper way. After all you will pay for their GPRS so they should be happy that you want to use it 😊
Kindest regards.....
