dont know if this helps but
i know vodafone customers had a problem with agile messenger because of the content control vodafone uses was blocking agile. so you had to phone voda and get them to remove the content control from ur account then agile worked perfect again. maybe o2 have some sort of content control too?? worth checking out

I have the agile messenger working with my 7610 and O2.

The version I have installed on my phone is the "v. AM-NOKIA6600-23", but as I write, and try to connect to it to write down all the steps for you, agile messenger says there's one update up for grabs, and is asking me if I want to download it, and I'm downloading it. It says it's gonna replace v.3.12 with 3.13. So 3.13 must be the last version available.

I connect with no problems to MSN Messenger using Agile Messenger using an Internet access point called "Passthru", which is written on the big blue button just underneath the several IMs, the first screen that shows up when you open the app. Then my phone asks "Select access points..." and I choose O2 MOBILE WEB. I use this as well to connect with Opera, and no problems at all.

And I've read somewhere how to set it up with your computer via bluetooth, but I just don't know yet.

Hello 😊

I am from Bangkok but i can definitely help here, because i had precisely the same problem. I'm using a 3650 only since two weeks, and i was unable to connect with Agile Messenger, Netfront, Opera and two or three other messenger-type apps. But with the original "web" application i could get any site, so what? My boyfriend's phone (a 6260) could connect with every application, but he's using a different network (AIS opposed to D-TAC for me).

So i went to D-TAC and complained. I told them that i use this phone exclusively to surf the mobile web and play around with Symbian things, and now i can't connect. I'm "only" a pre-paid user of their system but i want the service. So on they went, trying to figure out what was wrong.

It took two engineers, several phone calls to the head office and 45 minutes of trying to get my stuff working! And now i can connect to anywhere with everything.

I'll show you the differences in MY settings (which are way different from yours anyway, but go to O2 and explain them that you need (!) a connection that supports TCP/IP! And havwe them set it for you.

Here are my settings, just to show you the difference between the ordinary GPRS and the TCP/IP supporting one:

D-TAC GPRS:

connection name: DTAC GPRS
data bearer: GPRS
access point name: wap.djuice.co.th
user name: none
prompt password: no
password: -
authentication: normal
gateway ip address: 203.155.200.133

under "GPRS" the "advanced settings":
phone ip address: dynamic
primary name server: 0.0.0.0
secondary name server: 0.0.0.0
server address: none
port number: 0

Now, here's the TCP/IP supporting settings, notice the differences:

D-TAC WEB:

connection name: DTAC WEB
data bearer: GPRS
access point name: www.dtac.co.th
user name: none
prompt password: no
password: -
authentication: normal
gateway ip address: 0.0.0.0

under "GPRS" the "advanced settings":
phone ip address: dynamic
primary name server: 203.155.33.1
secondary name server: 202.44.144.33
server address: none
port number: 0

As you can easily see, the settings for those both access points are quite different. Now go to O2 and show them this reply and get them to set your phone the proper way. After all you will pay for their GPRS so they should be happy that you want to use it 😊

Kindest regards.....

Thanh

Hi

I have T-Mobil 4.99 T-zones but I have FULL Internet Access through OPERA in USA on my Nokia 7610. Does anyone know the GPRS settings for me to use Agile Messenger? It doesnt work on my phone.

Hi,

I was only able to use AgileMessenger with MSN when I created an account that has only lowercase alphabetical characters in the password (a-z). When it had uppercase characters or non-alphanumeric characters like '%' it failed with a message indicating a wrong pwd. I used my T-Mobile internet connection for it.

Regards,

Hans
