Is there are way of setting my 7650 so the light does not go out after 15 seconds, as often i view animated content, and cannot see to the end of it as the light goes out. Is there a setting or any software that I need to enable longer viewing?

I don't believe there is a setting for this, but it shouldn't be too hard to program. Expect to see someone write a small application to do this, in the near future.

Use your hand to push the joystick every few seconds to avoid the baklight go off. 😮

I'm going to check if it's possible thru a small applet (if available in the symbian OS)

Domi.

to atari,

i tried pushing the joystick before, and that only stops the animation competely 😞

This Prog. already exist 4 some weeks.

It calls Torch,is only 11kb and freeware...

there are also some other useful ones out there:

If the animation is a screensaver then no choice
but if it is not a screen saver type of application then
may be u can try to press the voice tag button quickly or press the power button quickly inorder to wake the system up from the idle mode.

Some of the application never trap the power/voice button event.

If I am not mistaken what Sami suggest it to run the Torch program that will make the screen ligh up unti lthe torch program is shut down!

When liting up the screen with Torch, pressing the menu buton will leave Torch running, together with the lit up screen! Now run any application you want and the screen will be lit! However, id did not try this but maybe it works! 😊

Yeah, but using the video capture software, it gets annoying because the light goes out. Touch the joystick and it stops recording!

There should really be a way of putting the backlight time on for longer!

Can anyone who has v3.16 check to see if the option is there?

I think you all should feedback to the developer of the Video capturing application.

Ask him to reset the inactivity timer when recording or replaying.

I got a 3.16 but I cant find any option to increase backlight time. As for the light going offf during recording, i press the joystick up,down, left or right to get the light to come on again and recording continues 😊.

As has been mentioned it would be nice if some apps would turn off the timer for the backlight, or give the option to use a timed backlight or permanently on backlight, using similar stuff as that app 'Torch' uses 😊

Yeah it works... I use Torch for this purpose quite often.
