Hi 😊
i hav this strange prob with my n6600, i downloaded a couple of mp3s from the net and converted em to wav format. then, using the pc suite for n6600, i saved em on my Memomry Card. Now when i select em in a profile, they play back perfectly there, but when a call comes in, the phone rings the good old nokia tone and NOT my selected wav tone :con?
i tried changing the directory from the mem card to the phone mem but didnt work, tried rebootin (with battery and sim out and in again), tried soft formattin the phone... nothin works...
the problem is not only with converted wav files, i tried sendin some midis to the phone and then savin em from the player... it saves em perfectly, then plays em back perfectly and then plays em back in the ringtone column of the profile section BUT when a call comes in.......... it doesnt work.... the nokia tune is all i can hear :frown:
can anyone please help me on this one? i am really really disturbed by all this!!!! 😮
thank you all!!!

They are in the .\Sounds\Digital folder/directory on the phone (memory card or phone memory)?
How big are the WAV files? If you use smaller one's and perhaps also lower the quality when you generate them, does it work then?

i hav experimented with different folders... i hav sound files in C:\nokia\sound\digital; E:\Nokia\sounds\digital; E:\sounds\digital and e:\sounds\simple and z:\nokia\sounds\digital......
i used riverpast to convert my files to wav... they were quite big... somethin like 154 and 112 kbs... so i also converted some of em usin jet audio and real player... now i have wav files ranging from 18kb to 763kb....
i have tried talkin to the warranty providers in Pakistan... they say that warranty doesnt cover this feautre as there is no apparent problem in any software or hardware.....
😡 😡
hey one of my friend's fiance found out the problem and corrected it....
thanks to all anyways i hav another question which i will post seperately
cheere 😊
it had something to do with the software version. i dunno about the details as i am not much acquainted with symbian software and its functional basis... but he said that he updated the version.... cuz one of my installed softwares was causing a problem....
i had exactly the same problem but i just put the tone i wanted in the sounds/digital folder in my phone memory and it was fine.
Had same problem, putting the file in the digital sounds file worked for me aswel. Cheers
