Inbox shows numbers, not names of contacts

Hiya. Ive searched the forums and found one or 2 posts on this subject but none of the advice in there has helped me solve this problem.

I am using a 6600 I just bought today. And im not happy!

Basically when I recieve a message from anyone, it shows up as thier number in my SMS inbox even though I have thier name and number in my contacts list.

Take this example, Name : MrBiggs Number : 0438210130 (real number without international codes)

Now I live in Australia, so when I get a sms from MrBiggs (Who's number i know off by heart) the from header shows the number "+61438210130" for the international code and stuff. Now for MrBiggs contact information I have his Mobile number as "+61438210130". Yet the inbox is still screwy.

Nothing I have done has helped fix this problem. I have deleted all numbers from the phone memory and all numbers from the SIM card. The only number in my contacts list (phone memory) is MrBiggs, yet the phone still shows his number instead of name. I have tried deleting MrBiggs as a contact, recreating him and adding his number minus the international (so his mobile number will be 0438210130) but this still does not work.

Additionally I have tried deleting MrBiggs again and creating the contact via the Inbox of sms, by selecting the message, going to options and saying "Add to contacts" >> "New Contact" and creating him again. Still no luck!

my firmware version is :

V4.09.1
26-02-04
NHL-10

I only bought this phone today and im ready to take it back!!
Is this a issue that can be fixed cause its bugging me!

Am I right in thinking you are on the orange network?

If so, its a problem with orange - you need to change all the numbers in your phonebook to international format so that the texts in your inbox also display the name of the sender.
