I just upgraded from an ordinary 128Mb TwinMos MMC card to a 1Gb SanDisk Ultra-II 60x (10mbs read/9Mbs write) and experienced a few good things.
First of all the camera and camcorder is working much better, pictures are not
that "redish" anymore and the shutter seems to be responding much better now!
The pictures got red and blury when I had the MMC card in the phone, even if I stored the pictures/videos on the PHONE MEMORY!!!! Now that seems to be all
gone, and I am getting happier!! 😊 So for some reason the type/speed of the memory card seem to be affecting the performance of the phone itself!!!!
Second, copying and browsing files goes MUCH faster.
Third, now the phones recohnizes all the apps that have been installed on the memory card, even if I remove and replace the memory card (which did not work with the MMC card)!
Switching MP3's stored on the memory card still goes slooow (2-3) seconds, even on this ultra fast SD-card with the embedded MP3 player. BUT! When switching songs with UltraMP3 (even if playback sucks) goes instantly, even if songs are stored on the memory card, so this hints that the slow switching of songs with the embedded MP3 player in the X is a sofftware issue rather than a hardware issue, and that can always be remedied!! 😊
Playback of movies with SmartMovie (2.47) goes flawless if the videos are stored in the phone memory, upgrading to a SD did not seem to help this issue, video playback still is a bit jerky when using the memory-card. But lets hope this can be fixed by Sendo/Lonely Cat Games.
I am pushing Sendo directly with all my experiences as well, so I hope they listen.
