Any good MP3 players besides UltraMp3?

Are there any other good MP3 players for the 6600/6620 besides Ultra Mp3? The reason is because UltraMp3 plays really crappy through the stereo headsets but the Realplayers sounds perfect on it.

Have you ever tried OGG Player? It's free (open source) and plays well on my 6600. The only down side will be that you need to convert them to .ogg format, for all of your songs that you want to listen. The good thing is that the size of a OGG file will be approx. 50% of a mp3 file, at the same quality.

Yah, I already have it installed and it ran kinda wacky on my 6620. Plus the .OGG files dont always compress that much smaller.....not that I'm in need for a lot of memory space.

Hi there

While on this topic, I'm using OggPlay and it works wonderfully. One of the kewlest features must be the fact that you can use .ogg files for ringtones 😉

Question: Oggplay can use a mp3 and aac codecs as well, nut it does not ship with them. If your phone has these codecs built in, oggplay will use them (with some exceptions). Where can I get a compattible mp3 codec for my 6600?

Thanx

I believe you're using ver <1.6? Try getting OggPlay 1.6.2, it's available at sourceforge or have a search at aivanet. With that version, all your OGG files that are placed inside the Sound Files folder will be listed in the ringtones selection menu. You can also open OGG files by using the Gallery and it will open in Sound Recorder (just like how you open most of the MIDI files).

Hope you have fun with OggPlay. Currently I'm still searching for the MP3 codec for my 6600. Hope there's one already.
