GPRS Connection does not close

4 replies · 2,913 views · Started 02 November 2004

When I start DORIS, and browse web, then disconnect and close application, there still reads GPRS in upper left and it does not go away, until I restart the phone.

I have changed from GPRS SETTINGS menu setting to "When Needed" so it should shut down when not in use.

How can I shut down gprs by myself(without reboot), or how can I setup phone to shut down GPRS automatically when I stop browsing !?

On the standby/idle screen press and keep pressed the red/disconnect key and network connections will close.

Err... that just turns the phone off... anyone got a better suggestion?

Oh, I didn't realize that. I don't use a SX1 and on all Nokia Series 60 phones there's always a separate power on/off key and the red/disconnect doesn't turn off the phone, but disconnects a call or, like I described, any network connections with a long press.

I have the same problem on FW12. I have heard rumours that it is fixed with newer firmwares (from siemens service centre)
I'm pretty sure that you cannot have both a gprs and a phone call connected at the same time, so perhaps try calling a freecall number to see if that fixes it!
