Back ground.....
My prev phone, a 7650 reciently died. It had stored on it, as NOTES files, all my PIN no's, and I had created a restore point using PC SUITE. Knowing that the 6600 used a similar system( the missus having one) I brought a second hand replacement and by cutting n pasting the C:\NOKIA files, restord my 7650 back up to my 6600. Now, have'n gotten the info I required, I restored a back up I had made of the 6600 original settings.
Now.......
The prob I now have is when I switch on I get an "App. closed Main" message, followed by "App closed Faxmodem". This can happen 3 or 4 times before I get a usable phone, and even then I get the following probs
Cant use Blue tooth. Selecting this causes the phone to re-start.
Phone takes about 20 seconds after switching on to get to the ENTER PASSWORD stage.
Have tried a full format and a local format and neither has solved the prob.
Is there anything I can do to reslove this?

6600 App. closed main
The problem is that the old backups from other models won't work on another one. Cause the libs (in dat formating) arent correctly line up for your newer device. The main file sorts out the dat files by name and date and rewrites these on your other phone. And there you got a problem, the file structure on your other phone isn't the same as the ohter. Even the S60 se is different to the one on the 7650. And symbian os7.0s works somwhat differend.
Best shot is to get the 7650 working again or to optain a 7650 with the same firmware, it might work on that one.... no garantuees...
Like wise the backups from my Sendo X won't work on a SX1 nor on the N-Gage, wich all run the 7.0 os with series 60 1 (version 6.2) with the same probs.
The 7650 is dead!!!!
I managed to read and record my NOTES which has saved my bacon so this bit worked.
I backed up and have restored my initial settings first using PC Suite so I would have a restor point. The Prob now is, having restored my original (6600) files/settings, I get this Apps closed main and App closed Faxmodem, along with my Bluetooth not working (re-sets phone).
I prob nead to take the phone into dealers for a re-flash, but wanted to know if theres anything else to try first?

Don't need to flash, just type *#7370# in the phone section, then the numbers 1to 5 and it resets the entire device. The problem when you use the libs of an other s60 device is that the absolute tags to apps arent correct.
But reset your phone to feactory settings when you've te intel you've been looking for.
Sorry to hear the 7650 has lost its life.....
Tried this. Got "Apps. closed main" 3 times, then phone re-starts.
After re-start its the same "Apps closed main" then Apps closed Faxmodem" and selecting bluetooth re-starts the phone.
That's really odd, cause when you've performed a factory reset the entire ROM should be reweritten with the orriginal factory apps and therefore should run ok. Or when youve inserted a MMC with the old files from the 7650 could cause some probs. But when the probs are consistent you should considering a rom flash done by a Nokia service point.
Thought so, just thought I'de see if I'de missed somat obvious.
