I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question to be asking I'm new to this. Just got a card reader for the mmc in my 6230, it's the standard 32mb mmc and when I try to delete stuff on the pc it says it's write protected and if I try to put stuff on the card it says the same, anyone know what I can do. Thanks in advance and I do apologise if this is a really annoying popular thread.

i just solved the problem by uninstalling the f*cked drivers that came along with the mmc card reader/writer (emagic 9-1) and used plain win xp drivers for the usb mass storage , works like a dream now

now using Twinmos 512mb MMC with the 6230

The One And Only Solution To This Problem!!!!!!

I Don't Know How It Came To Me But It Is Very Simple

Just Cover The Last Pin That Is Closer To The Cut Edge Of The Card With Some Clear Tape And Voila!! The Card Is Not Write Protected Anymore And Works Just Fine!! I Tried It In A Card Reader And In A Nokia 6230!!!

Hope That Solved Everyone's Problem

I am currently using the WinXP drivers and I encounter the same problems. I can only copy certain files and most of the time, unable to copy due to this write protection thing.

ot it:

Under Windows XP SP2 you have to set a new entry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ System\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ StorageDevicePolicies

with name WriteProtect
Typ: DWord-value
value 0 = write protection deactivated
value 1 = write protection activated

How can I make this solution with Win2000???
I cant find the:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ System\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ StorageDevicePolicies
with regedit in win2000
Please help me out.
