removing all trace of vodaphone from a 6600

I got a 6600 of a friend and I would like to remove all traces of vodaphone from it (start up screen, vodaphone live button, everything).

Ideally I would like to end up with a stock 6600, how would i got about doing this? can it be done?

Format the phone. Backup all data and charge the battery fully. Then switch off the phone and disconnect from the charger (it will not work otherwise).

Now the hard part. Hold down the green button, the star key (*) and the three key (3). Keep the buttons depressed and power on the phone. Keep the buttons depressed until the screen comes up with Formatting. Wait for it to finish, and voila, factory clean phone.

Unless nokia allowed vodaphone to mess with the firmware, your phone should be clean now.

Good luck

Yeah, I've tried that so i think it is a frimware issue.

I had a look through the other thread here and it lloks like i may need to get the firmware flashed. Where can I get this done in the uk?

That wont work at all,as vodaphone have there own firmware, all you will be doing is restoring the original files.

You will have to get the generic firmware flashed to it by a nokia service centre. (and it will be worth doing too). 😊
