p910 Alarm and OS query — Sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910

Hi all, havent been back here for the best part of a year since I sold my 7650 😞
However after realising what I was missing out on I am looking to upgrade or get a new connection and get a p910 or a series 60 phone if Orange have any.

My first question is about the p910s alarm capabilities. I recall on the 7650 that i could set any number ( I never tested the maximum number of alarms that could be set) of alarms and they could all be made to recurr every week month etc, which came in handy for setting up alarms for the entire week of uni and then leaving the phone to wake me for every lesson, week after week, for a semester 😊

So onto the p910, can it do this too or does it only have a set number of alarms that can be used like on my t610 (euugh). The t610 has 1 recurring alarm and 1 alarm that has to be re-set each time so thats no good unless i only want to wake up on 1 day of the week every week :/

Additionally how is everyone finding their p910s? Are there any major bugs in the current batch that I should be aware of?

Finally how much different is the underlying symbian OS to series 60? or is the difference just the interface? I really miss the series 60 interface and usability that I was used to on the 7650 hehehe.

The major difference between S60 and UIQ is that S60 is meant for single-hand use, and the P910 for two hands (one holding the phone, other holding the stylus).

You can set 3 alarms (recurring everyweek, only workdays etc.). Furthermore you can set an alarm prior to every event you have in your calendar.

Not much bugs as far as I know. And if there are, you can do firmware upgrades at home 😃

i didnt like series 60, but i do like UIQ. v nice 😊

the update service sucks i reckon. it doesnt work if you have a firewall. and even if it does, you have to sstay online for ages 😞

but, i still love my 900. tis the best phone i have owned. the only reason i would upgrade it in the future would be if the p920 used UIQ 3 and was 50g lighter! 😉

I've just placed the order for a p910, i would have preferred it if it was more than a minor update from the p900 but not having owned a p900 before this will do 😊

I better start browsing the software catalogue and see whats available 😃
