Well, its my second sendo x and the same problem : Impossible to update the firmware (i've tried on 2 computers...).
PC Configuration : win98 OSR2
Sendo X : usb cable from sendo
The software PC Connect works fine :
detection is ok (PC/sendo x)
all task are ok : sync,upload,download,install new program...
BUT when i restart the sendo in download mode (for update the firmware) the PC doesn't recognize the phone anymore : yellow flag on the system pannel of windows beside the USB Device Smartphone.
The Sendo X display a red flash on the screen between the pc plug and the sendo x plug.
I deinstall and reinstall the usb drivers (first only for update and the new one on the sendo website) but any succes 😞(((

you have to install the phone. When you startup the phone in update mode (holding *) then plug in the USB cable, you should get a plug and play annoucement saying a new device blablabla...
then choose the usb driver and install the sENDO X device on your windows.
that works for me !

Yeah i know this.....i've tried quiet several times before sending my post in this forum.
The problem is the two plugs (sendo x and pc) still in red (on the sendo download mode screen)...and win98 doesn't recognize the device : yellow flag beside the smarphone usb device (in the system pannel).
I don't know why the usb device is OK when the sendo x restart in the normal mode BUT it doesn't work when its download mode !!!!
Its my second Sendo X and the same problem !!!!!
Am i the only guy on this way !

WIN98 !!
win98 doesn't work. I have had other friends who had the same problem.
Maybe manually it works, but i had many people complaining win98 doesn't work with the USB driver.
Why not XP ? 98 is kinda very bad imho ... :icon13: :frown:

I'm dusting off my Win '98 PC now, and will check it out. Not a problem I am aware of. Is the PC Win '98 SE or just Win '98 ? 98SE is the ONLY supported version, as it's the only version that "just" supports USB.
PC Connect certainly is OK on Win '98 (SE), but it's a different driver file that is used for the upgrade process (not sure why).
Can anyone else confirm they have done it on Win '98 (SE) ?

what i suggest is, untill the compatibility problems are solved, you use someones WIN XP pc to update the firmware ( a friends' or relatives' pc)
As I said, you are not the first one to have problems with W98, so i wouldn't worry there.

My question is : Why Sendo support doesn't make compatible the sendousb.sys for win98 SE ???????
They put the good usb drivers for PC Connect for Win98SE on their website BUT not the "good file" for update with win98SE users !!!!
I know that my win98SE is quiet old but it's not a reason to not take care of us !!!
So common Sendo support : Make my day ====> Give us the good file to win98SE users for updating this smartphone pleeeaaaase !
