Can anyone help me?This is a major crisis!

Hello everyone! My 7650 had the "memory full" problem, until i could not enter the menu itself. i took it to a specialized nokia centre, had it flashed but the guys at the centre told me that nothing could be done, and the only way to salvage the phone was to have its entire chip(plaquette) removed and replaced-a procedure which will cost approx. 250 euros, or 350 USD. Better try buying a new phone, or so they advised me.what can i do?send the phone to the company itself?or is there a way to save my 7650?(without resorting to the chip replacement).Thank you in advance!!!
