HI, My 6600 has just decided not to show any contacts.
When I select contacts I just get the normal contats screen but with no contacts and only the exit button showing which doent do anything.
I can select groups but the same thing happens.
If I try to go to contacts via speeddial speed dial just gives up.
Any one got a idea whats wrong?
I'm assuming I'm gunna have to do a format, hopefully I'll beable to backup the phone book via bluetooth.

Can you enter/add a new contact?
If so, it sounds like you or someone else (or a program you've run) just has deleted all the contacts.
Hi, I can add a new contact but it doent appaear.
I know the contats havnt been deleted.
Incoming calls have the number shown, also the memory viwer says there's 53k of contats.
I've not run any programs on it to my knollage.
I've also tryed to back up the phone memery to the mmc and it get's about 5% (or 2-4mill) of the way across before stopping with no message.

It sounds like your Contacts application may have crashed.
Go back to the main screen (with your background etc.), try to make sure you step out of all applications before you do it. Hold down your blue menu button and see what apps are running. You should essentially only see 'Telephone', if there's anything else (especially Contacts), use an application like switcher to kill it...

What are the symptoms? This happened to me before:
1. when i open contacts, either by opening the contacts application directly or through the new message, or through a 3rd party application, the contact list is empty and it looks like it hanged or something. powering it off and then on gets the same results.
2. i then tried to restore my contacts from my backup in my laptop. says successful but nothing happens and if i power it off and on, the phone does not startup ever.
is this whats happening to you?

Hmmm weird...was there another app running then? What was it you killed?
Might be worth using Fexplorer to have a sift through your system folders, but be cautious,
Hopefully banxshee can come up with a fix for the problem, but I'll keep my thinking cap on...to be honest if the contacts app is corrupt or something the only thing I can think of is a format unless you can replace the app file somehow, anyone...?

I get 'Export has stopped with error.' with Contacts Manager.
Looks like the memory is really messed up.
Would a NSC be able to recover the contacts?
Or is posasble to get a drump of the contacts memory?
I dont really kill the format but need my contacts

I've treyed to copy the contacts with Fexplorer but I have had no chance.
I know I need to use memory maniger to unlock the contatcts.
But no luck 😞
It's defently the contacts db,
Backed up with sprite backup.
Did a soft reset - phone worked fine.
Restored the files and it was knackered again 😞
