Is there a software to edit and view office files like word and excel? Other than quickoffice pls, I heard that it is not compatible with SX1 for editing these kind of files.
Word, Excel editor for SX1?
I think QuickOffice does work on the SX1, but only if you install one application at a time. Don't quote me though, as I haven't even got a Symbian phone, let alone an SX1! At least not yet!

Yes, QuickOffice does work on SX1. I've tested version 2.0 and works fine.
The catch is: it must be installed first, before any other app. is loaded, otherwise it complains that there isn't enough space (even though I installed it memory card).
Dear ocujos,
I am a newbie in Symbian and I am gathering informations to bauy my first smarphone.
I really would know if it is possible to edit and save edited files (word and excel) with Quickoffice2, and with which firmware.
If so my research in finsihed... and my walet remains alive!
Thankds in advance
Maiky
I installed Office 2.0 to my SX1 (fw12) and I can view and edit, word, excel and powerpoint files. as far as I experienced you have to first install office before installing anything else otherwise it gives memory errors.
Great!!
Thanks
Maiky

Yes, you can edit and save edited files in both Quick Word and Excel.

What do I do if I already had some apps installed on my phone? I uninstalled all apps then installed the Quick Office 2.0 and it still gives memory errors

I did install QO2.0 and it perfectly works, you can read, edit, and same Word and excel files, I didn't try PP. You just havr to ignore memory errors messages.

This is how I did it:
- backup all data on your c: drive
- re-initialize your phone by holding the '*' and '#' while you're turining the phone ON. WARNING!!! This will erase all data on your c: drive and change all settings to the factory default.
- install the quick office software
You can always install the application by using Unmakesis, and copying the files over to the relevant apps/docs/etc folders.
My problem with the application is that it won't open a single thing, not even CSV or pocket word documents.

Yes, use UnMakeSIS to extract the files from the .SIS installer file, and copy the files to the MMC card folders accordingly.
