How much free memory on startup?

Hi - How much free memory do you have on startup? Also - could you indicate how you obtained this figure?

(I seem to have 8MB on my 7610; but i jsut read that 6620's have 22MB and 6600's have 11MB)

thanks. I was actually more worried about having an onl y partially working set.

Curious. I read in some other thread that the 6600 had 16MB and the 6620 had 22MB.
Total RAM, perhaps.

RAM random access memory it only has 8mb (7610)
6600 definatley only had 6mb ram

other memories would be internal memory meaning the amount of data u can store on the phone.

no 6620 is the same as 6600 is has 6 mb ram but has 12mb memory(storage memory) built into the phone!

Organization
*Phone book supporting multiple numbers and text entries per contact
* Full calendar with To-do list
* Alarm clock with snooze
*12 MB built-in flash memory expandable with external multimedia card (MMC) slot
for user data. 32 MB MMC included
*Features including phone book contacts, images, calendar data, downloaded
applications, ring tones, voice and text memos, and received, sent, and draft
messages share memory. Use of any such feature may reduce the memory
available for any features sharing memory.

that was taken from the nokia website

this may seem a little out of place but why the obsession about the functionality of a mobile TELEPHONE - if the thing had all this applications and memory, would you not be slightly annoyed at the fact that it wouldnt ring?? is that not the sole intention of the afforementioned mobile TELEPHONE

people enjoy specialised items such as the aformentioned mobile phone, they like extra functionality they like to have phones which can do much more than ring, thats why there are so many variaties of mobile comunication devices so people can choose what they actually do want in a phone (apart from the capability to ring people).

ok, that bit i can understand, but is the 8mb ram on the phone gonna save your life, or anything to that effect?? what i dont quite grasp at this point is....and i'll ask you a question....what is the point in all of these little programmes and speciality functions?? some of them are novelty and agree that is nice but, why??

erh. if you can't see the point, don't bother straining too hard to see it 😊

it's like - why get a PDA?

your not seen my point really are you?? you've got a nice phone i'll give ya that much but to be honest, and i'll be frank, its just not worth all the hassle of getting all these things on a phone cos by the time you've finished fannying about with it, summat else will have come out that puts all the effort and time to absolute waste.

erh. yes?

something else new coming out is the nature of technology.

and - if i hadn't wanted to do this, i would not have bought the phone. 😃 Think about it in terms of something material which *you* like, and paid special attention to. It's the same thing.

Finally, my purpose for starting the thread was to figure out of somehow I got a borked set. Good idea, no?

6600 only has 6mb ram so dont worry this is superior (in a memory aspect) to the 6600.

Hmm,i think that you've misunderstood, the 8mb and 6mb that u mentioned is the internal memory and not the RAM.As a user of 6600 and 7610,i found out that both phone have same RAM which is 11mb but will reduced to 8mb+ due to the running of the system files.

is that so difficult
plz check the ram with taskmngr or appman
u own symbian pda for Gods sake u should know what is ram and what its 4

My 3650
about 3MB on startup when no third party appz installed (after *#7370# 😊
about 2,4MB on startup when phone full of appz&games
about 3,5-4MB on flight mode
lack of ram pisses me off
