p900 worked for a week beautifully. no nothing.
sony said its windows xp professional II windows firewall .
can some one tell me in extremely simple language how I can put exception on windows firewall so my p900 will work.
turning firewall off does not do it.

If the P900 was working fine for a week, what changes, if any, did you make to your PC, since then?
BTW: I run WinXP Pro, SP2, with no problems regarding the P900
Can you more clearly state exactly what is not happening now, that used to, and any System messages that you might be getting.
Do you connect via the USB Cradle?
Sony said that if I had windows update on and it had updated something it would have mucked it up. Sony said that closing windows firewall would not fix it said that I had to get firewall to accept the external device but weren't allowed to tell me how.
sony also said they had had trouble with this and spoken to microsoft.
