If i reformat my Nokia 3660 on the two codes, i found undefined answers on this two codes. i have found some article on the internet:

http://www.newlc.com/article.php3?id_article=184

that tells:

Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.
I havent tried both, but i understand correctly that if i do normal reset it will just restore the default settings on my phone and leave untouched the pics and other apps.

Now on deep reset, if i did it. Reformats my C: drive, how can i make my phone work again? will i be needing a Symbian OS installer? so i can install it again after reformatting?

OR

If i did do deep reset, it will reformat my C: drive and get the phone to the default settings and files when i first bought and use it, in short take the phone back to factory installed software?

Am confused?

*#7370# will put your phone in the same default state it was in, more or less, when it left the factory where it was made. In other words, it is ready to use, but no user-content (no contacts, no messages, no pictures, etc.) and no need to "reinstall" or anything like that (the operating system is on ROM, Read-Only Memory, and is not affected; and neither is the SIM card or MMC memory card).

Does the phone have to be on in order to reformat it? What do you do when your phone doesn boot?

Because my phone doesn t boot anymore. I reboots right after the nokia logo. It does it 3times then stops
any idea
thanks

If the phone doesn't boot at all (tried without a memory card? tried with a new charger? new battery?), then a Nokia service center is where you should send/take it.
