ok
for those intrested in pop3 gmail on there phone it works .
according to the settings pop 3 is avialable but it says not yet available on mobile devices but it is .
i have a nokia 7610 and i got it working usuing these settings
email address =
outgoing mail server = smtp.gmail.com
username =
password = your password
incoming mail server = pop.gmail.com
mailbox type = pop3
security = ssl
those settings will only let you recieve mail i found but there is another box
(apop secure login) switch this to (on) and you can send too
obviously you will have to fill in mailbox name and select your gprs access point too .
hope my 1st post is of use to people
enjoy
Thanks a lot for posting it. Annoyingly, my 6600 won't do SSL, so I'm currently unable to receive mail via gmail, although I can send. Silly eh?
i dint have a gmail account yet but i sure will get 1 today if it works on the 7610!

Who is your service provider? I have mine working on the 6600 through the email settings that T-Mobile(USA) has.
hey!
can you tell me how to set the pop3 and smtp ports on a nokia? since gmail doesnt use the standard 25 / 110 ports my mail wont work on the 3650.

thank u for those settings well after defining the mailbox i immediately sent an email to my hotmail account which i received perfectly but when i replied to the message and tried to retrive it on my phone it says : server may not support secure login so i turned apop secure login off but now it just connects and keeps on prompting me for the username and password thing.. can u help..?
Hi everyone!
I have a 9500 communicator with an ISP email account configured on it. If I want to add a POP3 Gmail account, are there any special settings I need to enforce if I want to do to see all my e-mails in one folder. So far I have entered my Gmail account settings as a secondary account but when I try to retrieve messages I get a message telling me that the GPRS service I am using to connect has not been subscribed for...
Can anyone help me out?? Please!
Thanks,
Michael
