The A1000 gives you the option of seting up a dial up internet account, which I've set up via the control panal.
Might be me being thick but how can I then use that connection, as opposed to the GPRS connection it defaults to??
Tnaks for any help
Mick
I just tried it, hit disconnect in the browser then tried to open google.com it asked what internet connection I wanted I select dial up and it just fails. It's as if 3 UK don't want us to connect to the internet even if we pay them 10ppm.
I was wondering if it had a modem that supports dial-up or not but I can't find a decent tech spec for the A1000 anywhere, half of them are missing details like the bluetooth profiles it supports and the other half have incorrect info, e.g. saying it doesn't have predictive text or GPRS when it does.
Yep I'd tried exactly that and got the same result. It doesn't even attempt to do the dial up though, it assumes it's connected I think, so I'm wondering if you have to do the dial up beforehand somehow. Either that or it's completly blocked as you say.
Have you guys found anything? I just arrived in Italy and attempted the same things, new dial up and new GPRS internat accounts. No way to get around the friggin default!
You could try phoning 3 a few times every day ... maybe pester power will change their attitude (but I doubt it)
