Hey guys,
I have Motorola A920. I have some stuff written in the notes of the A920 handset and i want to transfer that onto my PC via Tools->Desktop Suite. How can i locate that onto the Handset from the software installed on the PC?.
(Actually i need to download my sms messages onto my computer frmo the handset but since i was not able to locate that inbox folder through the software when i connected to the handset so i decided to copy all of them one-by-one and put them into a single document of Notes bust still of no use). Please advise any way if there's possible. Its urgent.
Thanks in advance.
The only quick way I know of is to use the 'send as' option when in the note and send it to yourself as an email or if you have Bluetooth / Ir send it that way.
I'm not sure if this P800 app will work on the A920, but if it does, it does the trick of exporting your sms messages to the PC:

How can i install that S&W SMS Folder Manager on my Motorola A920. I purchased this handselt from Australia(cos i was based there) but I'm in United States and right now i havent got any carrier service on my Motorola A920 handset since it is 3G and not many carriers support that frequency. So is there a way i can download it on my PC and from there install it onto my handset?.
(I am actually facing this problem only because i am not hooked onto any carrier otherwise the simple quick solution i can have is create an email of all my sms'es and send it to one of my addresses.)
Thanks
If you have an SD card Reader on your PC its easy to save the .SIS file to the SD card then put it in the phone, or transfer it to the SD card using the A920 software and select Install from the Launcher Menu
Thanks for the help mike but how can i copy that .sis file on to the SD card. I havent yet played with the A920 so my knowledge in that is pretty limited. this is my first pda so i dont know much of the functionality. If you can let me know something in practical terms that wud surely help.
Thanks in advance
You would use an SD card reader/writer to edit the contents of your SD card!
These are generally pretty cheap (under 20 in the UK) and MUCH faster to use than pushing the files through the phone.
Does anyone know why an SD card reader is so much faster?
Windows treats the SD card in the reader as a removeable drive, and the hard ware in the reader does all the hard work, rather then as a serial inerface to the connected phone...Educated Guess...

...which is all well and good for one-off notes - but I keep a lot of useful resources on my Outlook Notes and I want them in my a925 and synchronised. Does the desktop suite support notes synching? Is there any synch software which does this? It's a major feature of the Treo 600 Synch software.

I've tried syncing to Outlook but it didn't give me the option of syncing notes.
Ive used 'Remote A92x/A1000 v1.42' to give me better access, it brings up a copy of the phone's screen on the desktop and I can run it remotely ( Keyboard & Mouse ), copy and paste text to / from the phone screen to windows.
It would still be one at a time, but could make it easier.
I used it after I had my phone flashed to edit the mess Outlook made of my contacts / calendar.
Mike.
