As the subject says, basically I'm looking into changing (faking) the useragent (phone model) reported to networks by the WAP browser. I want to do this purely so I can view the "content rich" versions of WAP sites, such as Vodafone Live! and Orange Oneworld.
At the moment, these sites detect the phone as a SendoX and send the default text pages; if I can change the useragent to say Nokia6600 then I will receive the "content rich" version of the pages.

I understand your issue, but do not know how to solve it permanently.
What you can do until the network provider provides rich content wap also
for the Sendo X, is to use your Opera web-browser to browse the wap-pages,
then you will get rich-content. (Yes the opera www browser does also read wap)
😉
I can't get that trick to work on my phone 😞

It should be straightforward. Be sure to use your WAP-connection point when using Opera and not your INTERNET-connection point. And then just type in your WAP - URL ...
