Hi,

Is it normal for the 7610 to be so slow to transfer pictures mp3's etc to or from the phone to pc via the usb cable??

I had a 3300 before and it was really fast at transferring mp3's

putting 1 200-300k pic from the phone to the pc takes 5 mins !!!

for mp3's dont use the application that is given in the pc suite, just use the actual folder!! In the Pc Suite there is something on the top row 'Trasnfer Files'! just use that (copy and Paste) it into where u want it to b! it does take a bit of time but it is way faster then the application on the PC suite

Ok i see - there is a 'Trasnfer Files' tab or something? if i click that I see a tree of the 7610?

what about putting pictures / cam video from phone to the pc? it seems soooo slow?

doesnt take that long for a pic to get transfered! i have the pc suite that came in the cd with the phone, i think its 6.1

Something is wrong with mine then !!

I timed it yesterday and it takes nearly 20 mins for some pictures to be transferred !!! using the 'transfer files' option.

im using win2000 sp4 on a p4 2.6gig
cable drivers and pc suite that came with the phone.

what can I try next? It is faster to email the pictures!!

im using xp with service pack2 on a 1.3gig proccesor! hmmm.. i really dont understand! try bluetooth! use it to send the pictures! how big were the pictures exactly but seriously i dont they can be that big to take 20 MINS!

They are only 250-400k each.
USB should be faster than bluetooth surely??
what do I need in my pc to try the bluetooth method??

also.....

250-400k seems small to me for a 1mp picture? I have the phone on highest quality too. what size do your pictures come out??

thanks

James

those picture sizes are normal. my pics are in the same category 250-400k. yes i think the size is okay for a megapixel picture but when u want to mms it takes up alot of size. u can try the bluetooth method by getting a bluetooth dongle/port and transfering ur files through it. it works fine but i think it is a bit slower than USB. but it sure will be faster than 20 MINS! hope i've helped..

Cheers zainman
will give the new version of pc suite a try 2nite - then think of the bluetooth route!!

Well, 200-450k is too big size for a low quality photo like the 7610 take, i have big pictures in a 32k bit colors and dont exceed 150 kb size, is just a compression problem, i guess. So with bluetooth u can transfer a 200 kb photo in 5 seconds, i just use bluetooth for photos and small files, is fast. So if u want to transfer a file more than 1-2 mb, u need the connection cable,....
