I ordered the Sendo X from Vodafone and got it yesterday but I'm taking it back tomorrow. My main problem was the keypad, the directional keypad and surrounding buttons are so close together I keep pressing the hang up call button by accident. The ergonomics are terrible. I'd definitely recommend trying the phone first before committing to it.
I didn't like the Now! layout either, I know you can change the panes but the standard Vodafone profile is not very nice and without any options to change it its a big disappointment. This is apparently being worked on for a later firmware upgrade but its too late for me.
I purchased the phone after reading many reviews of it but I can't help but wonder if there was perhaps a slight bias because its a british firm that has developed the phone. I know its their first smartphone but its best avoided in my opinion, maybe their second incarnation will be better.

so it's rubbish because you don't like the buttons and the main theme which you can change to another?
plus a them editor will be available so you can change themes to whatever you like.... (if sendo EVER comes out with a patch)
these aren't really arguments to say it's rubbish.
thanks for a great new topic 🙄
The default Vodafone theme isn't very good, I'll admit, but they did leave one of the Sendo defaults on the phones. Just go to Tools > Settings > Display and change the theme to Curves!
You get used to the keys VERY quickly...it will take a couple of days though! My advise to you is to keep it for a few days longer...you'll end up absolutely loving the phone!
Oh, and the next firmware will most probably NOT have a theme editor, that's being done as a seperate program, which may or may not be released to the public. The next theme WILL however, have at least one new theme included in it!
i finally got my X from Vodafone recently....
The phone is as good as i had hoped. Billy I know what you're saying dude, but you do get used to the buttons....
the feature set is untouchable on this baby.... and so far fingers crossed, I havent had any of the problems that people are reporting.
So glad I waited

Its not just a case of "not liking" the buttons, they are not very well designed - they just don't work very well for purposes of navigation and taking and ending calls. The directional pad should have been a proper joystick rather than a small dip you have to either dig your finger into or use your nail to press the sides. I know I didn't give the phone much of a chance (it did go back today) but perhaps my expectations were a little high.
And as for themes, well from some of the other posts about the delay of the firmware we really don't know when an editor might be available.
I have semi small fingers (i am 5'6" tall) and I always hit the right keys, but I had to get used to it first. I was used to my old T610, about a week later I could use it perfectly. My layout of the panes is actually pretty nice, again I had to get used to it as well, I wasn't used to a over view screen and a menu (maybe the overview screen is the now? i dunno). I have an expansys phone, unbranded maybe its different but I am quite pleased with it. My only gripe with the phone is the battery life, when I leave agile messenger on the phone will only last about 1.5 days! With agile messenger off it will last about 2.5-3 days.
i dont have any problems with the keys, i actually did have problems with my old sl45i but with the sendo i must say the keys and the directional pad are almost perfect(not 100% perfect because the two black keys squeak when u use them)
i was beginning to luv the now screen but now i just think its a stupid gimmick, why?well i made extra panes where i had shortcuts to my progs and they just disapeared like that😞 it didnt happen just once but three times within 2 months time. i think its kinda annoying because it takes about 20mins to make a pane, set its background, put all the shortcuts in it and then just have it disappear on u. ooh well guess nobody is perfect especially not a british product(maybe a german firm should buy it off like rolls and bentley were bought😉 )
