SSL for POP3 Email

I was told by 3, the Mobile Operator, that SSL is not implemented in A925's mail client.
Any comment?
If that is true, what kind of software that do support SSL POP3 email?
If that is NOT true, how to set it up?

As usual, Three doesn't know squat about their own phone.

When creating a messaging account, make sure "Secure connection" is checked in the "Advanced" tab. That's it.
